Worramet Matutamtada is a Thai composer and sound artist based in Seoul. His practice is rooted in ambient music and extends into spatial sound, texture-based composition, and embodied listening. He has collaborated with experimental film directors including Taiki Sakpisit and Moo Young Kim, contributing sound works that emphasise atmosphere, tension, and sensory immersion.
Matutamtada’s compositional approach prioritises texture over melody, using dissonance as a material that is made audible, tactile, and physically felt. Through dense layers and sustained sonic pressure, his work often forms a wall of sound that surrounds the listener, engaging the body through vibration and resonance. Within these heavy sonic fields, he introduces harmonic structures that carry memory and emotional trace, allowing moments of calm and familiarity to emerge without resolving the overall intensity. His work explores sound as a space for endurance, sensation, and collective experience rather than narrative or representation.
